Typical Electrical Problems Fixed by Mobile Mechanics

When you pop hood and look the complex mechanical device called engine, you immediately know that there are many cables. In fact, the cable same as snakes around the engine in a complex configuration that makes little sense to anyone who is not a mechanic. Auto engines have a lot of configuration that electricity is vital to their smooth operation. The reality is that when a car has a problem, it could easily be an electrical problem as much as it could be a mechanical problem.

Any qualified mechanic needs to be familiar with both mechanical and electrical problems in order to be efficient at his or her job. That means a mobile car mechanic must be prepared to complete a variety of repairs including those related to the electrical systems.

Seeking the Elusive Electrical Problem

Many times electrical problems are the most elusive, because they can occur intermittently. For example, the car engine may not work properly, but only after the engine warms up. Or the ignition works randomly. Perhaps the engine cuts out without notice while cruising down the highway. Then again, your car might have a faulty alternator or a defective wire.

All of these are electrical problems which can be fixed by mobile car mechanics. Using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment is necessary to pinpoint electrical problems in computerised engines, so it’s important to use a technologically current mobile car service.

The kinds of electrical repairs fixed by mobile mechanics include the following.

* Fault testing including reading computer fault codes
* ECU and PCM
* Electronic ignition repairs
* Electronic dash repairs
* Engine light analysis
* Electronic or electric module analysis
* Starter replacement or rebuilding
* Alternator replacement or rebuilding
* Battery replacement
* Electric brake repairs
* Alarm wiring repairs
* Air conditioning repair

Of course, there are plenty of wiring problems an engine can experience and they can be very difficult to locate unless the mechanic is experienced. Analysing electrical problems requires using special equipment combined with mechanic expertise. Today’s engines are extremely sophisticated combinations of electronics, electrical wiring, and moving parts and seem like they are half-computer and half-mechanical.

Quirky Problems Require Expert Repairs

There were 266,539 new vehicles sold in Victoria in 2008. There are over 3,921,574 cars on the road in Victoria. If you could talk to the various car owners who have experienced engine problems, odds are you would find the quirky problems are related to electrical issues. Fortunately the right diagnostic equipment can make it much easier to pinpoint the problem quickly.

Mobile mechanics can perform a variety of electrical repairs on-site. These include emergency repairs such as battery replacements to more complex repairs done at your home or at work. When you utilise mobile car mechanic services, you get convenient repairs for less cost than you would pay at a typical car shop.

Quirky electrical repairs can be expensive when the mechanic is not fully prepared with the right experience and the right diagnostic equipment. That’s why it’s so important to choose a qualified and certified mobile car service.

Mustang Exhaust - Professional Upgrade Tips

An exhaust upgrade is second only to buying new wheels when it comes to altering a Ford Mustang. No problem if you just change the mid of pipe or replace all the system, mustang owners have one purpose: An exhaust system that sounds great and lasts. The only way to ensure this will happen is to improve the existing exhaust system. So, what are the elements of the exhaust system in a Ford Mustang?

The mustang exhaust system contains more that just nuts and bolts in its construction and performance. Among the most important functions the mustang exhaust system performs includes: moving hot exhaust gases coming out from your car, limiting noise output, and reducing exhaust emissions. This exhaust system is key to improving overall engine performance because it allows you to increase air flow through the engine faster.

How does the exhaust system do these things? It is done by pushing the gases from your engine, through the pipes and mufflers, and out of your car. There are three main components to the mustang exhaust system. All Mustangs have the same set-up, regardless of the year of making. I highly recommend upgrading both the headers and going with cat-back exhaust. Not only will you improve performance, you will improve the sound and fuel efficiency in some cases.

Manifolds are the first component and are attached to the engine exhaust ports. Exhaust gasses are funneled through the manifolds from the cylinders into the mid-pipe, which is the single exhaust passage for all cylinders. Mustang headers are synonymous with manifolds and although they perform the same functions, they do not work in exactly the same way. Headers normally have curved tubes joining the exhaust ports to the exhaust pipe while the several holes of the manifold converge into a common chamber. Both systems prevent the gasses from slamming through the ports, channeling them instead in a gentle flow into the pipe.

Next in our list of components is the mid-pipe. Every mustang exhaust system features a mid-pipe. The mid-pipe is where the gases are directed when they exit the manifold. Equalizing the exhaust pulses is the core reason for having this. Exhaust pulses are bursts of exhaust leaving the engine to the pipe and aid in system efficiency resulting in more engine power.

The third component is known as the mustang catback, which is bolted on to the back of the catalytic converters. The entire assembly is made up of the mufflers and the tailpipes, this is the final place that the vicious gases created by the engine come to. There are many products available aftermarket for performance upgrading of headers, exhaust and intake, the best source would be to click the links that you find in this article or resource box.

You know, the things that make you dizzy if you must clean up all of that. Some people are care about the car. After all, they more than likely spent a ton of money.

For most people, buying a car is the first major purchase that they’ll make. Buying a house is usually the second major purchase. So, it’s no wonder that after buying your first car that you’d want to work hard to keep it clean. For some of us, keeping our vehicles clean is a little more difficult because life throws us many distractions such as children, odd or long work schedules, business trips, etc. However, you should always make time to take care of the vehicle that gets you around.

It’s in the Details!

Detailing your car is exactly what it sounds like. You are basically taking your car and paying close attention to every detail. Typically taking care of the exterior of your car will include things like:

- Washing and waxing your car
- Checking the tire pressure as well as tire tread wear
- Making sure all fluids (ex: windshield washing fluid, brake fluid, etc.) is filled
- Changing your oil (if necessary)

Interior Details

Not to discount the exterior of your vehicle, but the outside of your car will inevitably get dirty and scratched over time. It is still good to keep it as clean as you can, though. However, since the interior of your vehicle is where you will typically spend the majority of your time, this is where you’ll want to focus the most attention. You’ll need to get some cleaning supplies first such as car wipes, a microfiber cloth, a vacuum, a garbage bag, glass cleaner, upholstery cleaner, and an air freshener (optional). Next, there are some general steps that you should try to follow:

1. Throw it Out- Take everything out of your vehicle. This includes everything that is buried in your glove box. Put it somewhere (preferably in a bucket beside the car) where you’ll be able to access. After you’ve finished emptying all of the junk out of your car, go through each item and determine whether or not you really need it. This can be decided simply by thinking about the last time you actually used it. If you don’t need it, chuck it.

2. Windows- Using the glass cleaner, spray the solution on the windows, and using the microfiber cloth, go over the window so that it is streak free. Typically, you’ll want to start with the front windshield and work your way to the back.

3. Wipe it Down- Using your cleaning wipes now, wipe down all the plastic or vinyl areas of the car such as the dashboard, steering wheel and door handles, etc.

4. Vacuum it Out- After everything has been wiped down, go ahead and vacuum everything out.

5. Remove Stains- After you’ve vacuumed, examine your vehicle for any stains. If there are any, use the stain remover to remove them.

Increasing Automotive Performance

The amount of fuel consumption of a car is always related to the automotive performance of the car itself. However, the performance of a car can be increased in certain ways without negative influence on the gas mileage of a car. Below are some tips:

Performance chips: Computer chips that operate most new cars these days keep track of how much horsepower and torque can be displaced. Using performance chips or recalibrating the current chip used in a car can help in increasing the torque and horsepower to a great extent.

Cold air Intake: Power of a car engine can be increased if the temperature of the air that enters the car can be reduced. An under the hood modification in the form of cold air intake can help in this. Such an enhancement also beautifies the engine bay by making it colorful and attractive. Such a unit will also make an appealing sound.

Reusable air filters: Throughout the life of most of the cars, about 6 to 12 auto air filters are used without facing any problem, but when not in use most of them end up at the landfills for waste materials. Even though reusable air filters cost thrice as much as normal air filters, they are washable and last much longer than the regular ones. In fact, when you buy a reusable air filter for your car, it is actually the last one you will be ever buying for it. These air filters help you to increase acceleration and horsepower, besides having a very positive impact on the environment.

Performance exhaust systems: Another way to unleash horsepower, trapped up torque, and improve the overall automotive performance is by using “catalyst-back exhaust systems” (cat-back) for cars. Such a system installed in a car reduces exhaust back pressure by using low restriction performance mufflers and large width exhaust pipes while keeping all the important emission parts in their proper place. In addition to better performance, the exhaust system emits awesome sound.

To improve the automotive performance of your car, you may have to bear additional costs. While shopping online for the auto aftermarket products always opt for a trusted wholesaler. That way you will be able to acquire good quality automotive parts at very low prices. The auto aftermarket products/ services for increasing automotive performance of cars include accessories, replacement parts, appearance products, lubricants, various tools and equipments required for repair and service repairs. If you do the shopping yourself, you will be able to save a lot.

In 2008, the auto aftermarket had done better than in 2007, with a total sale of $285.5, which is a 4% increase from the previous year. In the light truck and car section alone the auto aftermarket experienced $211.4 billion sales while in case of heavy duty vehicles the aftermarket sales figure stood at $74.1 billion.

Understanding How Your Car s Anti-lock Brakes Work

Every modern car is the main focus on a Safety system. With innovations including airbag, head rest and seat belt, the risk has been reduced to levels that were unfathomable decades ago. Along those lines, an electronic control system including the development of anti-lock brakes (ABS). They prevent your vehicle's from locking the wheels when braking, an event that will cause you to lose control and crash potential.

If any of the tires on your vehicle lock up, your car will start to skid; it will become very hard to control. On the other hand, if your tires are able to maintain contact with the pavement, they'll provide the level of control you need to maneuver your car. This article will explain how the components of your braking system work together to prevent your wheels from locking.

Anti-Lock Brake Components

Your vehicle's anti-lock brake system has four basic components; they include the pump, sensors, valves, and controller. The pump is responsible for putting pressure on the brake pedals and stopping your car. The valves are responsible for releasing the pressure. When combined, these two assemblies create the rapid flutter of the brakes that prevent them from locking.

The second two components of the system are the sensors and controller. Immediately before a lock-up, the wheels decelerate very quickly; the sensors are able to recognize this change and act accordingly, relaying the information to the controller. In turn, the controller activates the valves and pump to control the brakes, thereby preventing your vehicle from skidding.

Anti-Lock in Action

In the event of a lock-up, the controller interprets the information from the sensors and identifies your car's deceleration as too severe for a standard braking situation. In response, the controller releases the valves which cause the wheel to accelerate slightly. The subsequent pumping action applies the necessary pressure to cause deceleration. This cycle, performed multiple times per second, causes your wheels to slow down at the same rate as your car without locking up.

Anti-Lock Varieties

There are three main types of ABS assemblies, but the most effective is known as a four-channel system. In this type of system, each wheel is independently monitored and controlled for maximum stopping power. Three-sensor setups are common as well. In this layout, the front wheels are independently monitored and controlled while the rear axis has its own independent sensor and valve.

Lastly, the single-channel design uses a single sensor-valve combination on the rear axle. This is commonly used in pickup trucks but is flawed because the wheel has to lock up first before activation while the other two systems act preemptively.

A lot of drivers mistakenly believe that vehicles equipped with ABS offer superior stopping ability. In reality, there are other factors, such as slippery roads and weather, that should be considered. Automotive technology will continue to advance as automakers strive to offer more protection to drivers and passengers. It is likely that today's braking systems will be significantly improved in the future.
